Create and/or adapt high-quality visual effects in accordance with technical constraints and artistic directions.

Responsibilities:

• Produce high-quality effects at any stage of the cinematic production process, adhering to the technical and artistic constraints of the project.

• Serve as a reference for the team regarding various artistic/technical elements.

• Share knowledge and contribute to team motivation.

• Contribute to the artist validation process by conducting reviews when necessary and providing relevant feedback.

• Effectively communicate the specific artistic direction of projects to the rest of the team and offer production solutions.

• Actively participate in implementing more efficient work methods.

• Build relationships with artists, technical artists, and other developers to facilitate effective collaboration during the resource production process.

• Plan, estimate, and prioritize deadlines for task completion, tracking progress using designated tracking tools.

• Communicate and collaborate with key stakeholders to confirm task direction and ensure consistency within the team’s work.

• Optimize work and maintain a balance between quality and performance.

• Establish and share best practices, production pipelines, and workflows within the group.

• Assist the Lead VFX in various tasks and responsibilities.

Qualifications

Skills and Knowledge:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Strong expertise in delivering good results within technical constraints.

• Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and/or After Effects.

• Familiarity with Maya, 3DS MAX, or Blender.

• In-depth understanding of workload management software/principles (Jira).

• Understanding of project management software (Shotgrid).

• Excellent knowledge of the video game industry and awareness of video game development processes.

• Knowledge of HOUDINI is an asset.

• Familiarity with data management software (such as Perforce) is a plus.

• Experience in a multi-project and international context is a plus.

Relevant Experience:

• Ideally, 5 years of experience as a VFX Artist in the video game industry.

• Bachelor’s degree in visual effects or other relevant training.

• Contribution to at least 1 or more games as a VFX Artist.

• Experience with at least 2 real-time game engines and production pipelines.
