This role will report to our Studio Design Line Director. We are considering on-site and hybrid working options.Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with level designers to create and implement location-based game mechanics and interactables, ensuring they make for the best possible gameplay experience
  • Collaborate with all disciplines on the game team to ensure that levels maintain a high quality of playability and performance
  • Proactively communicate with your lead and teammates to set priorities and goals for your work
  • Participate in the critique of your work, and the work of others
  • Collaborate with other technical designers to help guide the implementation of project technical design infrastructure
  • Support and grow your teammates through knowledge-sharing, debugging, training, setting best practices, and writing technical design documentation
  • Look for opportunities to learn new skills to benefit your growth, your team, and the studio

Qualifications

  • At least 4 years as a technically-oriented game designer, with experience on multiplayer games
  • Shipped at least one game
  • Strong expertise in visual scripting, and working with game editors like Frostbite, Unreal, Unity, etc
  • Proficient at debugging
  • Understand the importance of documentation and teaching others
  • Enjoy creative problem-solving, and value respectful feedback processes
  • Broad taste in games

  • Computer Science bachelors education

  • Experience working on FPS games

Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs. BASE SALARY RANGES • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria): º $107,600 – $147,100 CAN Annually • California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento): º $122,400 – $176,300 USD Annually • Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane): º $115,700 – $163,100 USD Annually Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity. For British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees.
