Senior Software Developer, Machine Learning

Summary

Frostbite is looking for a Machine Learning Senior Software Developer. Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, you will design machine learning solutions to enhance the capabilities of the Frostbite Engine. You will work with game designers, artists, and other software engineers to identify opportunities where machine learning can enhance game development. You will bring hands-on coding expertise in Python and C++ to build and deploy end-to-end solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Build machine learning systems and help develop features, data pipelines, engineering workflows, and authoring workflows.
  • Collaborate with ML experts throughout EA to develop and optimize suitable models and architectures.
  • Integrate ML solutions into proprietary tools and the game runtime environment on consoles, PCs, and mobile.
  • Write clean, well-documented, well-tested code that integrates smoothly with existing codebases.
  • Stay up-to-date on advancements in Deep Learning, Reinforcement Learning, Generative AI, and adjacent fields through self-study and internal and external conferences.
  • Be an active member of Frostbite and EA’s growing ML and AI communities, communicating with partners, sharing knowledge, and mentoring other team members.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience (C++).
  • 3+ years of experience developing and deploying ML systems in production.
  • Expertise in ML frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow or ONNX Runtime.
  • Experience building, debugging, and shipping end-to-end ML systems in a production environment.
  • Proficiency in software engineering good practices (version control, unit testing, code reviews).
  • BSc or MSc degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience communicating updates and collaborating with other developers and partners, including asynchronously across time zones.
