Since opening its doors in 2008, Ubisoft Singapore has become the biggest AAA game development studio in Southeast Asia. The 500-strong studio is home to 35+ different nationalities focused on delivering ambitious gaming experiences to our players. Ubisoft Singapore has been contributing to all the Assassin’s Creed titles since Assassin’s Creed II. It innovated within the franchise as the studio behind the naval battle gameplay and water technology in Assassin’s Creed III, Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag and most recently in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Its expertise in AAA and live operations, combined with a passion for naval gameplay, pushed the team to lead the development of Skull and Bones revealed at E3 in 2017.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Optimize/develop renderer, game engine, and data pipeline.
  • Collaborate with the technical director and leads on technical design, core tech, and feature rollout.
  • Advise team on the development of engineering system across the entire codebase.
  • Work with artists, designers, and other engineers to identify systems needing maintenance, optimization and/or replacement.
  • Coordinate with leads to ensure a smooth roll out of new graphical features.
  • Review the work of other engineers and provide mentorship.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • 5+ years of programming experience.
  • Shipped at least 2 games as a rendering engineer
  • Relevant experience working on AAA titles.
  • Mastery of C/C++, with excellent multi-threaded programming techniques.
  • Strong understanding of 3D rendering algorithms and related mathematics.
  • Excellent knowledge of graphics APIs and shaders.
  • Bachelors in software engineering, computer science, or equivalent.
  • Deep understanding of low-level optimizations, core subsystems, memory management, and cross-platform development.
  • Experience using game development frameworks and middleware.
  • Self-direction, focus, results-oriented thinking, resourceful problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communications skills.
