We are looking for an accomplished, practical, and well-rounded Senior Commercial Counsel to serve as the primary legal partner supporting technology transactions for multiple business groups within EA. These groups may include: (i) the services and technology group that provides common capabilities across existing and new gaming platforms, information technology, EA’s security team, and PC hardware partnerships, and (ii) the worldwide customer experience group, which provides 24-7 support to EA’s customers. You will also support cross-game and franchise technology licenses and provide backup support for other technology transactions as needed.
You will report to the Managing Commercial Counsel and can be based in our EA offices located at Redwood City, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Seattle, WA; Vancouver, BC. We are flexible as to which EA office you work from, and we will consider fully remote for the right candidate.

Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate a wide range of complex domestic and international technology agreements, including agreements for SaaS platforms, professional services, data protection, telecom, hardware purchases, payment providers, and inbound and outbound software licenses.
- Work with legal colleagues to develop and maintain policies, contract templates, training, and guidelines to ensure legal compliance and reduce operational friction.
- Provide legal advice on a wide range of legal matters in technology development, licensing, and customer service.
- Develop creative solutions to support business needs and objectives while mitigating risk.
Qualifications
- A/B.S., J.D. degrees and State Bar membership with 7+ years of experience with a law firm providing services for technology clients, relevant in-house experience with companies in the technology industry, or both.
- Significant experience with the negotiation and preparation of a wide range of sophisticated commercial and technology agreements.
- Experience with data protection and data security agreements.
- Ability to work with cross-functional business and legal teams.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to establish strong working relationships with business owners.
- Ability to manage entire contract process from initial contact, through negotiation, to execution.
- Ability to handle a high volume of work with minimal supervision, assess business and legal risk in a focused and efficient manner, and prioritize effectively.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the range and benefits for your specific location.
EA has listed the base salary ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
BASE SALARY RANGES
- California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento):
º $170,500 – $259,300 USD Annually
- Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):
º $167,300 – $238,500 USD Annually
- British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):
º $151,800 – $208,900 CAN Annually
Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity. For British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
