Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Assist in the creative and technical execution of the audio design established by the creative director.
- Design and deliver high-quality audio that enhances the player experience, including creating, recording, and editing audio assets for various game elements.
- Implement audio using in-house tools or industry-standard software and game engines (e.g. Unity) to achieve the highest possible audio quality.
- Build and maintain effective mix architectures to ensure audio consistency throughout the game.
- Test all aspects of the audio implementation to ensure accurate playback and readiness for release.
- Regularly review work with senior team members to maintain a consistent and high-quality audio style across the project.
- Collaborate with developers to explore new tools, features, and techniques to innovate audio design.
- Foster a collaborative work environment by building strong communication channels between the audio team and other departments (art, animation, programming, level design, etc.).
- Attend development team meetings and provide updates on audio progress.
- Meet deadlines and coordinate with other teams to ensure audio work aligns with project schedules and expectations.
- Proactively identify areas for innovation and find creative solutions to technical audio challenges.
Minimum Requirements
- Proven track record of at least two released or live games.
- Expertise in at least one DAW (digital audio workstation).
- Proficiency with standard audio software such as REAPER, Pro Tools, Vegas Pro, and Izotope RX.
- Demonstrated sound design and editing skills, supported by a strong demo reel.
- Ability to design audio for a wide range of styles.
- Experience implementing sound in games using various development tools and pipelines.
- Willingness and ability to learn new in-house game editors for integrating audio content.
- Strong knowledge of game production processes and audio implementation pipelines.
- Basic understanding of coding techniques related to audio.
Additional Experience
- In-house game development experience with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to provide and receive feedback constructively in a professional environment.
- Self-motivated and able to meet deadlines, regularly reporting progress to producers.
- Ability to take initiative, demonstrate autonomy, and own your areas of design.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Organized and proactive in maintaining high standards and meeting deadlines.
