We are looking for a Senior Animator who is highly proficient in all aspects of high-quality animation. This person needs to be organized, strategic, and thoughtful in all interactions.

Our Senior Animators are dedicated, focused, and self-motivated to produce high-quality animation. They work within all styles of animation.

This is to be an FXT position for a year with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities

  • Understand multiple processes, workflows, toolsets, and styles for keyframe and motion capture production.
  • Create AAA quality animation according to the direction of the supervisor while adhering to metric and schedule.
  • Maintain regular communication with supervisors, management, production, and staff daily.
  • Address feedback and notes on all work to the best of their ability, should there be an impasse, provide creative solutions.
  • Share tips and tool knowledge for animation best practices
  • Present concept ideas and communicate technical issues to leads.
  • Be present with all renders and notes prepared for Lead and Supervisor reviews.
  • Create video reference to supplement assignments where necessary.
  • Have a full understanding of all animation tools being used on the project – both internally and client-developed.
  • Set a strong work ethic example for the team.
  • Identify and report potential risks to delivery timelines.
  • Train and acclimate new animators to the team.
  • Uphold quality standards, mentor junior members, and ensure productivity levels meet project requirements.
  • Contribute to a creative, collaborative and fun working atmosphere amongst the team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of animation experience in the entertainment industry
  • Expert and hands-on knowledge of Maya for animation, both aesthetically and technically.
  • Strong background in AAA facial animation workflows
  • Knowledge of aesthetics of character animation and movement
  • Knowledge of pipelines, workflows, and toolsets used in key frame and motion capture animation
  • Able to adapt to/ keep up/ follow through changes in direction yet work within defined procedures
  • Able to create high quality, story-driven performance animation.
  • Able to communicate effectively and articulate eloquently, especially in offering productive opinions while evaluating the work of junior members in the team.
  • A strong team member, able to collaborate with a wide range of peers, leads, supervisors, producers, and management in an open working environment.

Desired Qualifications

  • Understanding of Motion Builder
  • Understanding of camera composition and layout
  • Experience with FACS based rigs
  • Ability to evaluate facial rigs aesthetically and technically
  • Has worked directly in game-engine builds or Devkits
  • Comfortable working in a global team environment
