We are looking for a full stack engineer on Pogo engineering to help develop and maintain features and tools for the Pogo platform.
Role:
In this role, you will report directly to the Associate Technical Director and have a high level of interaction with Pogo engineering team members, development directors and EA central teams. Pogo Engineering manages the Pogo platform that consists of Progressive WebApp and Java Backend deployed on AWS that supports more than 60 HTML5 games. As part of the engineering team, you will help design and implement new features for our end-users, internal tools, automating our processes and troubleshooting large-scale, high-throughput systems. This is a remote role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop stable, scalable and efficient code using common software engineering design patterns and paradigms on both front end and back end.
- Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements for the live platform
- Write high-quality code and participate in design and code reviews to maintain development standards
- Work with partners to translate requirements into technical design and provide estimates.
- Evaluate and make recommendations on technologies to improve the usability, performance and reliability of our platform
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent training and professional experience
- 5+ years of experience as a Software Developer
- 2+ years hands-on experience as Full Stack Developer
- Proficient in Microservices Architecture / Web Infrastructure / REST / Protobuf / TLS
- Proficient in Java, J2EE/Spring/Spring Boot/GRPC on the backend and React/Angular/Progressive WebApp(PWA) on the frontend
- Proficient in styling web pages using CSS and related frameworks
- Experience with load testing, troubleshooting, and optimizing performance of web services
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services
- Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITSThe base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.BASE SALARY RANGES • California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento): ° $114,200 – $166,200 USD Annually • New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo): ° $99,900 – $166,200 USD Annually • Jersey City, NJ : ° $131,600 – $168,400 USD Annually • Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs): ° $99,900 – $141,800 USD Annually • Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane): ° $99,900 – $168,400 USD Annually • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria): ° $77,600 – $130,500 CAN AnnuallyBase salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity. For British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
