Position Title: Sr Game Designer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Gameplay Designer to join the Skate team. Your focus will be to provide other teams with gameplay-specific support. You will also assist and collaborate in the designing, and implementation of gameplay features. As a Senior Gameplay Designer you will acquire a broad understanding of our core toy and how it relates to the game from both a technical and design standpoint.

As a Senior Gameplay Designer reporting to the Lead Gameplay Designer, you will:

Responsibilities

  • Partner with game design, programming, and player experience to provide solutions for gameplay-related issues.
  • Align the team on goals that will bring our game wide features up to a high-quality standard.
  • Provide guidance, propose solutions, and help implement gameplay features and content pipelines across different areas of the game.
  • You will assist and/or oversee the authoring of in- and out-of-game content for gameplay related systems and features.
  • Communicate progress and resolution of problems, and set clear guidelines for multi-disciplinary gameplay-related features
  • Identify, monitor, plan, and prioritize feature task work necessary for maintaining a live service product from a core gameplay perspective.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a gameplay designer working on AAA & or mobile titles
  • Experience with visual scripting and related gameplay tools within engines such as Frostbite, Unreal, or Unity
  • Experience gathering and reviewing consumer feedback to make meaningful, data informed decisions.
  • Understanding of long-term player habits and skill development over time
  • Proven ability to collaborate and clearly communicate complex designs and issues
  • Passion for promoting an inclusive and diverse, ‘team-first’ culture based on fun

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the range and benefits for your specific location.

Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

BASE SALARY RANGES
• California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento):
° $122,400 – $176,300 USD Annually
• New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo):
° $115,700 – $176,300 USD Annually
• Jersey City, NJ :
° $142,000 – $176,300 USD Annually
• Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs):
° $131,000 – $174,800 USD Annually
• Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):
° $115,700 – $163,100 USD Annually
• British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):
° $107,600 – $147,100 CAN Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity. For British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
