Job Description

The Texture Artist creates, modifies and organizes next-gen photo-realistic textures of the game. They will closely work with the Art Director, Lead, Modeler and Technical Director to achieve the desired visuals.

Responsibilities :

  • Create, modify and organize next-gen photo realistic textures
  • Participates in the project’s artistic directions
  • Anticipates and suggests improvements to solve technical issues
  • Create photorealistic textures from reference and interpret artistic direction from lead
  • Ability to use efficiently the textures space and to take into consideration the pixel ratio
  • Texturing, assignation and mapping knowledge is a must
  • Good understanding of memory and performance constraints, and know how to optimize textures while maintaining high quality
  • Work closely with Art Director, Lead, Modeler, and Technical Director in achieving desired looks of models
  • Any other ad-hoc duties, if necessary

Qualifications

  • Have prior experience within the gaming industry
  • Ability to work in a creative and collaborative team
  • Superior sense of detail, colour, lighting value in regards to texture creation and material settings
  • Expert Substance Designer skills
  • Experience with modelling skills will be a plus (preferably 3DSMax, Zbrush)
  • Ability to understand technical constraints and to integrate them
  • Good knowledge of modeling techniques, texture mapping, materials
  • Be fast and efficient to manage deadlines and production pressures
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills
